Halloween- HO HUM!!!!

I have not blogged for awhile as you can see because it has been pretty chaotic around here. I'll go back to the next exciting thing in our lives and that was Halloween. I gave this title because Halloween was not very exciting this year. It was suppose to be fun as all Halloweens go, we had plans to take the kids trick-or-treating, Cole was going to be a girl, Jack a ninja (as usual) and Hanna a queen(oh so fitting). All did not go as planned though. Philip woke me up Halloween morning at 1:30 tellling me he needed to go to the hospital. He was holding his side and pacing around. In the 10 years we have been together I have never taken him to the hospital, he has usually taking me for something or another. So I got up extremely worried about my husband and called his mom to come stay with the kids while they slept and off we went. My thought when talking to him about what he was feeling was kidney stones and once he was examined by the Dr. I found out I was right. The poor guy was in so much pain, I felt so bad that their was nothing I could do but be there for him. We got back home around 5 that morning and put our tired bodies in bed. I had to get up soon and take care of all 3 kids plus 2 extras because Halloween this year fell on conference week and the kids were out of school. Friday was a long day and Philip was not getting better but worse. I decided along with his brother Eric and his mom that he needed to go back to the hospital. This was the tough part it was now around 4 in the afternoon and I wasn't sure we would be back in time for trick-or-treating so I made plans with the neighbors to take Jack and Hanna and Cole was going with his friend. All seemed to be planned for the night until I called home from the hospital and found out the Hanna was crying and not going out because she was worried her daddy wasn't coming home. Poor little girl we both felt so bad for her. We both promised her that dad was fine and coming home and Philip even talked to her on the phone to hopefully reassure her that he was fine. Ended up she wouldn't go so I promised her that I would take her out when we got home and I did for about an hour she ended up having a good time(and mad a beautiful Queen). I was just sad though because we were all apart for this fun night and my poor husband was feeling so horrible. So I give you Halloween, HO-HUM!

Field Trip BRRRRR!

This morning was a good morning. I got the kids up and took everyone to school and then went with Jacks class to Northern Fruit Company on a field trip. It is so amazing to me how interested the kids were in the packing shed. They learned all sorts of cool things about what happens once the trucks bring the apples to the warehouse. They were all so well behaved too. Jack was so excited that I was with him. The bus didn't arrive at the school to leave until 9:15 but he insisted that I stay when I dropped him off at 8:25, I think in fear that I wouldn't make it. I wouldn't have missed this day for anything. Seeing how excited he was just to have me go on a field trip just melted my heart. When we got back to the school I took him back to the classroom and got my stuff to leave and I told him goodbye and to have a great day, he was so cute because as I left I turned around for one more look and he crossed his arms on his chest (love) and then pointed at me. Ahhh my precious boy.
Tonight Philip and I are going in different directions. He is taking Hanna to Pumpkin Carving Night in her classroom. Father Daughter bonding time. I am taking Cole to his Fun Night at his school and then Jack and I, well I guess we'll have more bonding time. I love that with my kids. I l love having one on one time with each of them and that doesn't happen very often. Cole has gotten to the age where that's just not fun anymore more but Jack and Hanna are still young enough that they like it. We just have a hard time finding the time.

Blogging

I never thought I would ever be a blogger but then a friend of mine Jen sent me a link to her Blog and I thought WOW what a great way to remember the little things in lifes crazy journey.Add Video Crazy is a word that desciribes my journey to a tee. With a family of 5 I to have lots of things to write about and great pictures that need captions and explaining. What a great way to remember the little things in life that seem like little things but are truly large.

I live in a household of 5 people, my husband Philip, my oldest son Cole, my second son Jack our daughter Hanna and myself. Hanna you will read about often, she seems to rule things around here. I'm not sure where she got that ability, (maybe I should sit her down and try to figure it out) because I sure would love to possess just some of that ability.
